Dino Shareholding Inc. Corp.
Made for the GMTK Game Jam 2024 by Rene Jokiel and Benedikt Wille using Unity.
In this complex business simulator you have to make money by buying other companies and leveraging the skills of your employees in order to scale your business and grow a virtual dinosaur on your phone through expensive in-game purchases. Yes, it's complicated.

Here are the basics: Also see the ingame tutorial in the menu with images. You are running a holding company while playing a mobile game where you have to feed and grow a dinosaur by buying him food using your money. The game is turn-based with every turn being a quarter of a business year and your goal being to scale your company and keep your dino alive and growing. On the left of the screen you can see your money and the companies you have bought and that you can manage (e.g. Llamazon). In the center you can see your employees that you can assign to your companies by dragging and dropping them into their respective slots. For every company you can see their expected profit this quarter (bottom right) and how much they're worth if you would sell them. Assigning employees or investing into the company (costs money) increase the expected profit. When you are done with everything for this quarter, press the "Next quarter" button at the center bottom. You will see your earnings screen where you see how much money you make and how much you have to pay in employee wages. During the round you can also buy new companies (e.g. Gianthard, Like, ...) for money and employ new or level up existing employees through the respective buttons in your "book" menu (center bottom). Now to the dino: Your motivation as a manager is to pump way too much money into your silly phone game. If your dino doesn't reach it's required height each business year (4 quarters) you will go game over. You can feed it through the menu in the top right. The menu will tell you how much food (= money) the dino needs.
Note: Selling companies sometimes messes things up or duplicates companies and employees. Sorry for that, but the bugs shouldn't affect general gameplay too much. Also, sometimes going into a menu and then back into the main screen helps because is reloads the companies, employees etc.
Advanced gameplay tips:
- You can see market and stock trends on your companies. These are per-industry (IT, Consulting, Entertainment). Bad trends (like -10%) mean your company isn't worth so much at the moment when selling and the profits are lowered. Good trends mean the company is worth more than normal and profits are higher. If you e.g. only own IT companies bad stock prices in the IT sector will hit you harder, so make sure to balance your portfolio.
- All companies and employees have skills (Innovation, Leadership, Strength). Try to match employee skills with company skills to gain higher profits.
- You can also feed employees to your dino. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
- Each business year (see top left for time) new companies and employees will be unlocked for you to buy or hire.
